Hamilton Metal Fabrication has fabricated structural steel and miscellaneous metals for general contractors across Hamilton and Southern Ontario for over 40 years. We're family-owned and operated, running out of a 12,000 sq ft shop in Guelph — about 45 minutes from downtown Hamilton — and we deliver and install everything we build.
Our welders are certified to CWB W47.1 (carbon and stainless steel) and CWB W47.2 (aluminum) — the Canadian Welding Bureau standards that most municipal building departments and structural engineers require for structural steel work. Certification isn't a one-time test; it's maintained through continuous testing, which is part of why general contractors specify CWB-certified shops for anything that needs to pass inspection.
Every job follows the same sequence, whether it's a single custom railing or a full structural steel package: scope and drawing review, engineered shop drawings, fabrication in our Guelph shop, quality check, then delivery and on-site installation by our own crew. One team, start to finish — nothing gets handed off to a subcontractor partway through.
