Curved staircases are the piece most fabrication shops sub out — the stringers have to be rolled to a consistent radius and the treads templated individually. It's one of the reasons buildings hire us specifically for feature stairs rather than bundling it into general contract steel.
Every guard and handrail we build meets Ontario Building Code requirements for height, load and opening size. We flag any existing non-compliant railings we notice during a site visit, even if it's not part of the original scope — it's a liability worth knowing about.
